Through ChildSight UK, we support vision screening in schools, helping identify potential sight problems early.
We also collect old spectacles and hearing aids, giving useful items a new purpose and helping people see and hear a little better.

RECYCLE FOR SIGHT
Your old glasses. Someone else’s chance to see.
Have a pair of unwanted spectacles sitting in a drawer?
Don’t let them go to waste.
Through Lions Recycle for Sight, unwanted spectacles are collected, sorted and prepared for reuse, helping provide the gift of sight to people who may not otherwise have access to affordable vision correction.
DON’T BIN THEM.
GIVE THEM A SECOND LIFE.
Your old glasses may no longer be right for you, but they could still be useful to someone else.
Simply bring your unwanted spectacles to one of our local collection points and we’ll take care of the rest.
Broken or unsuitable spectacles can also be recycled, with recovered materials helping support the recycling operation and sight-related projects.

Lions Message In A Bottle
Sometimes, a simple idea can make a real difference.
Message in a Bottle helps emergency services find important personal and medical information when it matters most.
The idea is simple. A small bottle is kept in the fridge with details such as medical conditions, allergies, medication and emergency contacts. A sticker on the front door lets emergency responders know that the information is there.
It can be particularly useful for people who live alone, older people, or anyone who may find it difficult to communicate their details in an emergency.
There is no cost, and it takes only a few minutes to complete. Yet having the right information available at the right time can help save valuable minutes and give families and carers some reassurance.
For us, it is a small thing that can make a difference and that is often where community service begins.
CHILD SIGHT UK
A clearer future starts with seeing clearly.
Early detection of vision problems can make a lasting difference to a child’s learning, confidence and development, and eradicate 80% of adult blindness.
Through Lions Child Sight UK, we support free, non-invasive vision screening in schools, helping identify potential sight problems at an early age, when timely action can make the greatest difference.

Some vision problems can go unnoticed because children may not realise that what they see is not how everyone else sees.
Our trained Lions volunteers work with schools to provide simple vision screenings. Where a potential issue is identified, parents and carers are advised to seek appropriate follow-up from an eye-care professional.
